Why Donate? It goes without saying that delivering great projects costs money, we are enjoying amazing growth and opportunities, your donation really does make a world of difference and enables us to continue to do what we do and to develop, improve and expand. More than that we are so excited when someone stamps a seal of approval and joins the Jae community with a donation of time, money or stuff! The NeedSometimes devleopmoent education can seem a little dull, its not as cute as kittens and it can feel like we don't see change come quickly enough, but we believe that development education is vital if we are to see a fairer and more peaceful world for everyone. As the world becomes smaller and the global economy and migration bring the peoples of the world closer together young people need to learn how to engage with others, to begin to recognise and understand the global issues which affect us all and also to discover their own voice within our local, national and international communities.
We believe that young people both now AND in the future have tremendous power to understand our changing world in new ways and to contribute their voice and creativity not only as future descision makers but as current citizens and leaders. It works! We have had a brilliant start, impacting over 2000 young people since November 2003, we estimate that we have spent over 15,000 hours with young people in three years. Our team has grown from two to five, our turnover has trippled. This year coming we are planning to tackle more issues and to improve our level of support to teachers and young people, enabling them to go on and make a difference as Global Citizens. Don't take our word for it, after every session we run we try and take evaluation forms from students and teachers to improve on our work. "We are lucky to live the life we live" - Student from Flight of Fashion Event "I enjoyed being able to express the way I feel about what I learnt today" - Student, Islington Arts And Media School "It was the best day of the year at school!" - Student, Sir John Cass Primary School "Stunning! An excellent way of involving every student and enabling them to learn about the issues in a fun way. Really powerful, everything was top quality" - Teacher, St. Anne's Catholic School for Girls "The best part of the day was seeing the students enjoy themselves and being made to think about these important issues" - Teachers, St. Edwards C of E School.
